Hillary Rheinheimer

founder — owner — head trainer

A third generation horseman, Hillary has extensive showing and training experience in hunter, jumpers, and hunt seat equitation. As a junior, under the guidance of her mother and Paul Valliere, she competed in the prestigious ASPCA Maclay, USET, and USEF Medal finals placing in the top 15 five years in a row. Hillary also won the CHJA Junior Medal and was Reserve Champion at the New England Equitation Finals.

While attending Hollins University, she was the prestigious Cacchione rider all four years and was reserve champion at the national IHSA competition her senior year. She was also the winner of the International Intercollegiate Show Jumping competition. Following graduation from Hollins, Hillary went to work for Susie Schoellkopf and Jennifer Alfano, expanding her already proven skillset.

Following her marriage to Stan Rheinheimer, they relocated to Virginia, where she established and managed a highly prosperous business. In 2010, she returned to Connecticut to assume the role of Head Trainer and Director of the Riding Program at The Ethel Walker School. Foggy Meadow Farm was built on their shared dream to have their own barn and welcome like-minded horseman. FMF aims to provide quality riding lessons, training and top notch horse care.

Stanley Rheinheimer

founder — owner — master of all

With his incredible mind and capable hands, Stan is the go to guy. Not only did he build the entire barn with all its amenities, practically single-handedly, but he is also a wizard when it comes to fencing, footing, maintaining and repairing any type of machinery and equipment. Aside from his invaluable role at home, Stan is also the Technical Coordinator for the National Finals Rodeo each year in Las Vegas. He is the behind-the-scenes invisible guy who makes sure everything runs smoothly.

Foggy Meadow is the success it is today thanks to these hard-working conscientious two. Hillary and Stan have two beautiful children, Tripp and Hadley. Although Tripp does ride occasionally, his passion is baseball. Hadley is continuing the family tradition and is currently riding and training a young pony. Be on the lookout for these future stars!

In Loving Memory of “Edgewood”

In loving memory of Edgewood, known around the barn as “Marty,” and as “The Best Horse Ever” to those that loved him. Marty was an immaculate hunter, winning blue ribbons through the Green Hunter and Performance divisions up and down the east coast. Once retiring from this career, Marty was Stan’s partner in crime, exploring the many acres around FMF and beyond. In his later years, Marty served as babysitter extraordinaire, showing both of the Rheinheimer kids the ropes of horseback riding and horsemanship. Marty passed in 2023 surrounded by those that loved him and his legacy is strongly felt throughout the barn aisles and paddocks here at Foggy Meadow Farm.
